T10: Appraising and Developing Shale Gas Reservoirs
Instructor:
Creties Jenkins, P.Eng., Vice-President, DeGolyer and MacNaughton
Who should attend:
Reservoir and exploitation engineers, geologists and engineering technologists.
Tutorial Description:
The purpose of this tutorial is to review the fundamentals and describe the techniques used to appraise and develop shale gas reservoirs. The tutorial will begin with an introduction to shale gas reservoirs, followed by discussions of those reservoir descriptions and engineering techniques used to evaluate them. Three case studies will then be presented to show how the techniques have been successfully applied to develop different types of shale gas reservoirs (Barnett, Antrim and Lewis Shales).
