The Canadian International Petroleum Conference (CIPC) 2008 will be held this year in conjunction with the SPE Gas Technology Symposium. The CIPC/SPE GTS 2008 Joint Conference (the Petroleum Society’s 59th Annual Technical Meeting) will be held on the 17-19 June 2008 at the TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary, Canada.

The Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA), the Petroleum Society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), will be convening this fall to explore the various aspects of the heavy oil and bitumen industry. This conference combines the SPE International Thermal Operations Heavy Oil Symposium and the CHOA Annual Business Conference, and will be held on October 20 to 23, 2008.

COGEH Volume 3 is now available for purchase from the Petroleum Society. Volume 3 includes the following sections: Detailed Guidelines for Estimation and Classification of Coalbed Methane (CBM) Reserves and Resources; Reserves Recognition for International Properties; and Detailed Guidelines for Estimation and Classification of Bitumen and Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) Reserves and Resources (NOTE: this section is not yet available).
