CIPC-2006-03: Gas Deliverability Forecasting
Instructor/s: Ralph McNeil, Fekete Associates Inc.
Who Should Attend: This tutorial is designed for reservoir, petroleum, and exploitation engineers/technologists who are in involved in well testing, field development, and exploitation.
Tutorial Description: Accurate forecasting of gas production requires integration of reservoir volumes (reserves), sandface and wellhead deliverability, wellbore hydraulics, pipeline and compression capacity, plus other factors. The primary objective of the tutorial will be to demonstrate through worked examples a proven and reliable modeling process that includes a modeling matching phase and conversion to the scenario development phase. The following main topics will be discussed:
• Pipeline Pressure Loss Match
• Deliverability
• Compressor Modeling
• Historical Production versus Base Forecast Matching
• Scenario Development.
Instructor/s: Ralph McNeil, P. Eng., is a Senior Technical Advisor at Fekete Associates Inc. His main responsibilities currently include training, support, and technical development within Fekete’s software development group. Ralph has over 25 years of petroleum experience in reservoir engineering, property evaluations, modeling of gathering systems, and software development. He has authored four technical papers and two technical videos.
