Motivation and Retention in the Petroleum Industry
Young professionals in the petroleum industry are faced with an exciting, but monumental challenge: to become tomorrows leaders, innovators and technical experts, thereby ensuring that future energy needs continue to be met.
The purpose of this workshop is to explore and discuss some of the important issues that face young professionals in the industry today, while preparing to meet that challenge. The workshop is structured as a panel session, with discussion leaders who will generate dialog about the results of a recent survey done in The Way Ahead Magazine. The survey is centered around topics of 'Motivation and Retention', 'The Big Crew Change' and 'Career Paths.' This afternoon session will also provide networking opportunities for young professionals.
This workshop is open to all SPE and Petroleum Society members; the primary focus being those under the age of 35, with less than ten years of experience.
If you are interested in participating as a panelist or discussion leader, please contact David Anderson, SPE Young Professionals Director, Canadian Section at 403-213-4224 or at danderson@fekete.com.
