Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA), the Petroleum Society of Canada, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), we welcome and encourage you to attend the 2008 International Thermal Operations and Heavy Oil Symposium (ITOHOS 2008). This conference, which combines the SPE International Thermal Operations Heavy Oil Symposium and the CHOA Annual Business Conference, will be held on October 20 - 23, 2008 . The ITOHOS 2008 organizing committee extends an invitation for you to attend, and join with us in exploring the various aspects of the heavy oil and bitumen industry.
The theme of our conference and exhibition is Heavy Oil: Integrating the Pieces. We plan to present the most current technologies from around the world with a special focus on heavy oil and bitumen. The scope of the technical program encompasses the technical, as well as economic and environmental issues, challenging our industry today.
The committee expects to host over 1000 delegate professionals involved in all aspects of heavy oil and thermal operations, representing companies from all over the world.
The paper selection process has been finalized and authors have been notified. The organizing committee will now coordinate the program for this year's conference, including technical papers, case studies, panel discussions, and keynote addresses.
Plan on attending one day early, and attend one of the half-day or full-day technology short courses on various aspects of thermal production, including both upstream and downstream operations. These informative courses will be of interest to all levels of an organization.
We look forward to seeing you in October at ITOHOS 2008.
